Mostly what I already do. Only in a remodeled house. Plus, I'd get vacations.
I feel the same way, but it's one of those questions that is hard to answer unless it actually happens. A whole new world of possibilities would open up that could change my plans a lot, I imagine. Not that I ever have to worry about that happening!
I have no worries in this area, obviously. But can't say I haven't thought about it. Million-dollar gifts to friends who are struggling, that would be ever so much fun. Buy great swaths of land that are in danger of development. Endowments to wildlife and domestic animal rescue groups. Actually, I'd take over the whole Boxer Rescue, and get them 1000 acres somewhere in the wine country, no cages allowed. And then, for me, a cabin in the San Gabriels, a horse ranch in Rancho Santa Fe, a place in Norway, another somewhere in the middle of France, and maybe one place really exotic, like Kansas or South Dakota. The homes would be old, but sound, so the roof wouldn't leak. Then a visit to the South Pole, and a drive cross-country with one of those rescue boxers. And then, after all that, I'd have a billion left, and time to get serious.
Wow - you have thought about it! :-) Travel would definitely be on my agenda and a place up in Mendocino to grow old in.
I'd buy a museum, establish a charity, and take on the negative portrayals of minorities in the media
