Give It Away

Great story from a fiction writer about how he used Web 2.0 tools to get his book published*.

Where there's a will ... right!?

*Hat tip to the IWOSC newsletter, which reprinted the article from earlier this year.

  1. This appeals to me more than trying to peddle self-published books, but I can't explain why. I suppose either is viable, or not. It's going to depend on the book itself, and the podcast will also depend on the reader.

  2. I think it's about building an audience and then using that to get a publisher to take a chance on the book. Maybe the podcast - or blog - is a way to test the waters, kind of a "proof of concept"?

That makes it more appealing to me, overall, than self-publishing.

  3. Something like that. My wheels are turning.
